On Friday of Holy Week Jesus was condemned before Pilot, tried by Caiaphus, scourged and crucified.
Read Matthew chapter 27. This is another day we keep rather simple. We let the scriptures do the work. The only other activity besides reading in Matthew (or our Easter egg scripture object lesson) & watching the accompanying videos, is making “hot cross buns” as a child friendly way to engage them while talking about the events of this day of Holy Week.
Resurrection Egg for today:
Today’s egg is filled with-
- a piece of purple fabric
- a thorn
- a nail
- a strip of paper reading “Matthew 26:57-75, 27:1-2, 11-25, 26-50”
Each separate set of verses is about a different object. We also include turning the lights off when the scriptures say that the sky darkened.
